What is Writer's Block?

Writer's block occurs when your writing process is interrupted.

You can't continue writing because you don't know what to write next.

This is a terrible nightmare for writers. No one wants to be in that situation.

You can find ways to overcome writer's block below.

Ways to Cure Writer's Block

ways to avoid writer block

1. Write Whatever Flashes in Your Head

You should accept that you are being in writer's block.

At this time, no ideas arise while you write.

You need to know that overcoming writer's block is very easy and there are many ways to do that.

Never assume that you will not write anything anymore.

Instead, write about anything.

This works for a lot of people, forcing your brain to think and be more creative.

Once you have thought of a paragraph or sentence about the topic, go back to your writing.

Write down any ideas that come up in your head, don't try to make them perfect. Writers often encounter writer's block because they spend too much time making perfect sentences.

2. Know Your Where and When

I see that some writers write emotionally, few write rationally.

When they are inspired, they write a lot, when they are out of inspiration, they stop writing.

And that's one of the causes of writer's block.

Besides, the surrounding environment also has a lot of impact on writing and inspiration of the writer.

Creative stimulating environments often have sounds or noise or tranquility such as cafes, supermarkets, sounds like running water, crackling fire, noisy conversation,...

So the first thing is that you should pay attention to in which situation you write most enthusiastically, where, and when.

For example, I write most enthusiastically at cafes where 2-3 people sit in the same space chatting. The best time for me to write is in the afternoon until late at night.

3. Outline for the Article

This is a good habit if you want to write well.

Writer's block can occur whenever and when it occurs, it usually lasts for a period of time. So you may forget some ideas that you were about to write.

So before writing, you should make an outline for the article. If you do this, you will not be afraid of writer's block because you always have ideas from the outline already.

4. Write Every Day

My friends often ask me why I can write so much.

There are actually no big secrets here. I simply write every day.

This is really suitable to solve writer's block situation. Because once you have established a habit, just skip writing a day will make you feel uncomfortable until you can sit at the writing desk and write.

I have done the challenge of writing continuously for 90 days.

At first I thought I would never do that.

However, after 30 months, I have owned 90 articles written by myself.

And ever since then, I write every day.

This is the power of the writing habit that I have been fortunate to create for myself over the years.

5. Read

Reading another book or article can help you formulate your idea.

Pick a book you like, read and jot down good ideas.

6. Relax

Take a break.

Sometimes a nap or a movie is also surprisingly effective.

Forget about your article. Don't be too harsh on yourself when you can't think of anything else.

Do not panic.

Most writers encounter writer's block. And it is completely normal.

Remember, every time you get writer’s block and get over it, you get more creative and more imaginative.
